When I came home early this afternoon at my in-law's place, my sisters in law have noticed that I have been losing weight as if I am using one of those best weight loss supplement being sold in the Chinese drug store. Well, I guess I can credit the losing-weight thingie to my demanding job and at the same time, my on-the-side passion for photography. Add to that, I am still a mom to a terrible yet adorable 2-year old boy toddler :)

I think I now need a two step stool when ever I cover weddings. I don't have yet any of those ultra wide lens and having a ladder, rather a stool will help me "fake" pictures that I have used wide angle lens. Oh how I wish I have ultra wide angle lens for my wedding coverage tomorrow :( Nevertheless, I am still excited. It's the 2nd gig where I am the main photographer :)

Quite a number of my friends have already indulge in body art- that is tattoo! However, I still don't wanna join the bandwagon. The idea that I will still have those ink (despite of using any of thosebest tattoo removal cream) when my skin becomes loose really scares the hell out of me. apple bottom items. When we worked together some 5 years ago, she would always order some baby phat items from me. She just likes ordering from me since my items are 15% cheaper compared to the ones being sold in the mall. Unfortunately though, I have to put halt in this lucrative business. A friend asked me who was my mother-in-law's interior designer. She finds the architecture of the olds really nice. I find it nice too except for the number of chandeliers they have in the house, that even bathrooms have chandeliers too. I just find having 14 chandeliers in a house to be too much, don't you? :)

I have never been this organized when it comes to office documents until I joined the current account I am handling. truth to be told, I don't nee any document management software anymore as my current superiors have taught me well to be organized all the time. I have to be on top of things- always. Practically, there is no room for error. I find it funny that when couple open their gifts after the wedding day, most of them would find a bunch of kitchen utensils as wedding gifts. LOL During our wedding, we received 3 coffee makers, 2 rice cookers and some more dining wares. Though I love the simple, sleek design of our new office, I think it still needs a little tweaking perhaps by adding few office décor that will make the office a little lively. In a BPO environment, a lively and fun environment is crucial in making the employees feel that a stressful working condition can still be fun. One of my co-workers just learned that his mom got the big C after her mom's hospital confinement. It came as a shock as there is no family history (both from his mother and father side) of having cancer. I remember one colleague as well from another company when he found out that his dad got cancer too. This time, it was lung cancer. He can't really blame cigars as cigar packs already have cigars information that smoking is dangerous for health. What ever type of cancer it is, having such illness is something nobody would want to have for Christmas, that is for sure.

I am not really sure what that product is for because the only skin care product I use is just cleansing foam. I don't even use moisturizer. The van will be left to my parents. I am not sure if I already have an entry on this blog before that I am keeping an apartment. I am keeping but I don't spend most of my time there. My son, TJ, is not there. He lives in two houses. he doesn't have a permanent home. One happens to be my folks' crib while the other is my sister-in-law's house. At the age of 2, I just couldn't leave him with his nanny alone. Oh well, lets go back talking about my apartment. I don't keep much furniture in my apartment. The bathroom, in fact, was so simple. It doesn't even have a bathroom fans so you can just imagine my sweat during summer and the times when I have to deposit human waste. LOL As much as I want to install a bathroom fan, it is going to be a long talk with the landlady. And the landlady isn't exactly the type of person you wanna talk with. LOL.

About 2 months ago, my brother was offered a new job with pretty hefty compensation. Despite of the fact that he is doing good with his old company, he opted to go out. Let's just say that after being offed 3x as much as what he used to earn, he get tempted. He was very grateful with all the help and experience he had with his old company. I remember that he event brought one
rackmount home as he really needs to study it physically. Now that he is with the new company, he said that he will always look back at the company who gave him his first break. :)

Terrence is the only dependent that is covered in the HMO plan provided in the office. How I wish I can also have my parents covered but aside from the fact that they are over the age limit, it will also require them to have medical exams. At their age, getting medical exams could be a real hassle. That is why I am currently looking for a term life insurance no medical exam over the internet. Or maybe, I can bug my "big time" brother to pay for the HMO of our parents. :)

While I was browsing results of last year's bar exam, I came across a blog that talks about the Jones Act lawyer. I used to dream of becoming a lawyer too until I realized that my family does not have the financial capability to support my studies. My father-in-law, who is by the way a very good cook, has just launched his catering business in the US. Currently, they offer their services mostly to their friends within the LA county. Soon, they are planning to move to San Diego and they will be moving there the business too. Just last week, they had the chance to cater an event in a certain hospital. They earned at least $500. It's not that much but it's already a great start. If you know anyone who is holding an event (preferably of Filipino communities), please refer my father--in-law. I just lost my phone a couple of days ago. I was actually busy reading ipone as well as ipod reviews because I am already set on buying a new phone. While inside the mall, I was surprised to see various apple products. on display. I am not really a fan of apple products since I find really expensive. I think the last apple item I got was an Ipod nano which was my birthday present to my then boyfriend, now my hubby. Hubby got an Iphone which my sons really loves. Hubby said that he will send me one iPhone not for my use but for TJ's. Hahahaha :)

Of Medical Insurance

We don't have yet the card form HMO providers. Instead, we were provided with a letter saying that all affiliated hospitals and clinics of our HMO provider should honor the letter along with the company i.d. when admitting patients from our company. I have listed TJ as my primary dependts since hubby is not here. For employees like me who work on a grave yard, having an HMO provider that covers accidents really matters. With that, employees will no longer have to file disability appeal since if disabilities happen due to accident, the HMO provider will pay the patient a hefty amount that will cover all the expenses.

Out of Business

The grocery business that my in-laws own is now out of business. Both my parents-in-law have migrated to the US for good and unfortunately, no one willingly volunteered to manage the business. SO far, my sisters-in-law have managed to liquidate the grocery items including the POS systems that Russell's parents have invested on. We are hoping that by the end of the month, we can dispose all the items so that our garage a.k.a. stock room will be "clutter free".

I was actually playing with photoshop when I have thought of creating an ala-post card picture that I wanted to be post in Facebook. I am glad that although my photoshop skills is very amateur, a lot of people appreciate my work. One friend even mentioned that I only need post card printing and the post card picture that I made will be sold like hotcakes. As if!!! :)

The week that was...

This week was jam-packed with a lot of happening: both negative and positive. I no longer want to dwell on the not so good things. I am leaving the past behind. Negativity won't get me any further, personally and work wise. I am now here in Summit Ridge with my in-laws enjoying the cool weather. It's been a while since the last time I've been with them. It's a refreshing event. Too bad though that we are going to go back home this coming week end so we really need to make the most out of it. :)

On Getting Fit

Last month, I taped the scale at 120 pounds. I got a bit worried for I normally weigh only 115 lbs. I blame it to my uncontrollable diet. I usually eat only twice a day but for the past couple of months, I eat thrice a day already. In addition to that, I have been uncommonly attracted to chocolates. So there my weight gain go. Now, I really have to go to the gym aside from using apidexin.

Cleaning up the office

The 4-story building that my in-laws own has now been sold. We had to fix and clean the office. fax machines, copiers including receipt printer have already been sold through a garage sale. The grocery and antique house have finally said its goodbye to its league. Russell's folks are going to live in the U.S. for free that is why they are slowly liquidating their assets and some real properties. Now, the house garage is a huge stockroom. I hope that we can dispose other office items in a month so that we can start living clean and spaciously again.

Certification Jitters

As a supervisor/team leader, I must show my subordinates as well as my managers that I am very much knowledgeable of the campaign I am going to handle. But I am still human you know. I still get nervous from time to time. I hope that God will guide me so that I can ace this certification. :)

Living Room Set

In the apartment I currently keep, I don't actually have any furniture in my living room. All I have are bean bags essentially because of "moving" issues. I hate to move bulk furniture as I don't own a truck. But I am now thinking of getting outdoor chair cushions to make hanging out in the balcony even more homey. I still have check on my budget this coming payday. :)

I have mentioned before that our company just release new health insurance policy for our employees. Booklets were already given so I had the chance to review its coverage. Though I am happy that we now have HMO card, I was quite dismayed when I saw the coverage. It was not as comprehensive as what my previous employer has provided before. How I wish we have something like Blue Cross NC. TJ has been actually listed as a dependent in my HMO so I am somehow relieved now that he has health insurance.

Having My Dream Car

My brother just bought a brand new Honda City. It was his gift to himself for his hard work. Actually he has just been hired where his new employer gave him 3x the salary from his recent employer. My father is actually encouraging me to buy one too. Unfortunately, I don't intend owning one as of this time. If I will purchase a car, I'll make sure that it's gonna be my dream car. No, it's not gonna be a BMW or a Ferrari car as I can't even afford Ferrari parts. A new model of Miata will do for me. I'll give myself 5 more years to get that. :D

Baby Shower

A good friend in the office is going to have a baby shower anytime soon. Actually her estimated due date for her child delivery is in October so now is the perfect time to hold a baby shower. How I wish I can give her a Bob revolution stroller. Unfortunately, my financial will not permit it. Instead, I am just going to give her TJ's old but still in good condition stroller. I thought she's gonna be disappointed but when I told her about it, she was actually happy about it. It will save her great amount of money. I am so excited with her baby shower!

Yesterday, I printed out some pictures from my very recent photography gig. It was such a hassle that I only saved the pictures to be printed out in a DVD R disc as I don't have a usb flash drive yet. I am now thinking of buying a Kingston 8GB from buy.com out of their weekly deals. Not only that it is convenient to carry but it also comes cheap. :)

Undeniably, TJ loves theme parks. When ever we get to mall, he would always take my hand and lead me to the arcade. Guess he inherited it to his dad. This coming payday, I am looking forward to bringing TJ to one of the theme parks again.

Rainy Thursday

TJ got slight fever today. I blame it to the ever-changing weather condition. Just today, I was caught in between heavy rains while taking a walk to the office. I am hoping that I won't get sick tonight. Our company just released a new HMO and I intend to add TJ as one of my dependents. I am not sure if I will be needing an insurancespecialists for that but I really need to get TJ a health insurance.

At Last!

We just got our passport. Hooray for that! While it's my 2nd time to renew my passport, it was TJ's first. We had a horrendous experience processing our passports so I just decided to have our passports delivered right at the comfort of our home. I just can't help but laugh seeing TJ got cross-eyed during picture taking. LOL Anyway, I have to have these passports photocopied, notarized and send it through FedEx together with some ID pictures so that hubby can file my i-tin for tax refund. After the i-tin, applying for Visa will be our next step. Hopefully, the petition will be done in less than one year.. Ooohhh..I can't wait for that to happen. Wish us luck!

Training Mode

For next week, I will have a daytime shift. This is in line with the upcoming I have to attend for a new campaign. I should say that I am quite challenged with the new account I am going to handle since I don't have any experience handling outbound accounts. But it was the client who requested that I should be part of the team. I am quite flattered. Still, I am hoping that I'll get to join the inbound team since that is what my forte is. For now, I will just enjoy the day shift since it's been a long time that I've been 'suffering' from grave yard shift. :)

Rainy season is officially here. Just last week, the counrty was hit by a storm with signal n0. 2. It was so scary as the wind blew ridiculously. There were no cards on the street. TJ and I are now actually in my in-laws' place in Cavite. It's been a while since the last time we spent a week end with my sisters-in-law. I missed them. Yesterday, we had a drinking session while having videoke. It was total fun. Today, one of sisters-in-law cooked a very sumptuous pasta meal for snack. I super love her cooking. While TJ will be spending a week here, I will stay in my apartment every other day. How I wish hubby is still here. Week ends will be totally different if he is around. :(

On Temporary Lay-Offs

The recent economic phenomenon has reached our company. Just today, 2 supervisors are about to be laid off. Last month, there were at least 25 agents who went into floating status. It's not because these are non-performing employees. It's just that the account they are handling has suddenly been dissolved. I am just thankful that my job in the company is very much stable. In fact, I am very much excited about the upcoming challenges that my "new role" might bring. It's abou time. For the longest period of time, my skills have been "stuck" to creating reports. I wanna be more dynamic. The best is yet to come. :)

Today is father's day. Im sure that most of you have planned what to do on this special day for fathers. Our family didn't plan any extravagant activity. We're just going to have seafood galore for dinner. As much as I want to plan a father's day with hubby, I can't. We are miles apart from each other. When I posted in facebook our wedding pictures more than 2 years after the wedding day itself, I got great feedbacks on our cake. Ours was not the grand tower type of cae but just a 180pcs strawberry shortcake. These also served as our wedding give aways. Off to Tagaytay

In a couple of hours I, TJ and the rest of the Hernandez clan will be off to Tagaytay for some RnR. I just wish that my love is still here to have this much awaited vacation. It's a real bummer that our summer beaach get-away has been scrapped due to some unavoidable circumstances. I am not sure if I am going to bring my lap top with me. I just hope that there's wi-fi in the hotel we're gonna check in.

As yesterday was memorial day, my team didn't get a lot of calls from our customers. Perhaps, they are still in vacation mode. As a result, we sent home half of the team. I, on the other hand, was given a one-day leave credit for reporting for work on a holiday. So now, I am here at my in-law's place spending good time with them and TJ. OhHhH, I just love holidays!

Payday Friday

Yesterday was payday Friday. But surprise!!! I don't exactly know where all those moolaahhH went after sitting in my payroll account for only a day. So many bills to pay, so many things to buy. Still, I thank God for keeping me a job. Having a stable job nowadays is something one can never be sure of that is why I am really thankful. I might rant at times but I still love what I am doing. With a new kid in town, it's gonna be more exciting for me in the next few months.

Dimmed Dilemma

I had a very good week last week. But this week started with a not so good news. How I wish I can share in this blog what I am going through right now but the matter is just to personal for me to announce it publicly. All I can say is that I am very blessed having parents who don't control my life and who supports me all the way without asking anything in return. I was raised by my parents righteously. They taught me to ALWAYS respect the elders. But then again, there comes a time when you have to cross that boundary to let the elder person know that what he/she is doing is no longer just. I hope God will give me more strength to UNDERSTAND this person even more.

Ways to Lose Weight?

I can't help but be disappointed with my weight when ever I would look at my photos taken two years ago. Well, those are actually my pre-pregnancy photos. Now, two years later I am 10 kilos heavier. I am really tempted to try using those diet pills or slimming tea products but part of me says that I should try going to the gym first. My, Oh My! Can you share any weight loss secret?
